EXPLANATORY NOTES
The course comprises a set of 4 modules, successful completion
results in a Graduate Diploma.
A "module" is a group of subjects corresponding to
the IIW syllabus sections.
A "subject", designated by an individual 9xx series
number, is a group of ‘topics’ and is equivalent to approximately
30 hours of classroom study.
Each "topic" relates to a particular subsection of
the syllabus.
Module A - Processes and Equipment; 901, 902, 903, 904,
(917) (Note: 901 can be taken at any time prior to or as part
of module 1, it is also available as an undergraduate elective)
Module B - Materials and their behavior in welding;
905, 906, 907, (918)
Module C - Design and construction; 908, 909, (915)
Module D - Fabrication; 910, 911, (916)
Note: EWE/IWE candidates will need to complete a 60 hour practical
welding course (eg. NNB 009) locally at any time during the
course.
